Around My House!

My oldest granddaughter and her friend spent the night with us this weekend. She brought an univited guest - her new, little puppy. Thanks, kid! Although I do have to admit, the puppy was cute, but I saw that look in my hubby's eyes when he was holding it. NO! NO! NO! We do not need another pet! It's not going to happen! I know I said that the other four times, but this time I mean it. There is not enough room in this family for another four legged kid!

Speaking of kids, how are yours? Mine are busy, but not too busy to call dear old Mom. I really enjoy hearing from them, as they don't live very close to me. I am going to miss them at Thanksgiving though, with every one doing their own thing, like the honeymoon in Maui and the other in-laws turn, one going to a cousin, and so forth. I am sure we will feast and be thankful, anyway!

The holiday will be here soon and I can already taste that dressing; although, I will miss Mom so much. This will be the first Thanksgiving without her, but I am thankful she is in a better place, now. I need to find her recipe. It is delicious! Yes, it's going in the cookbook!

What are you cooking for Thanksgiving dinner? I might want to join you. Tee Hee!

Where Does The Time Go?

Yesterday morning while lying in bed, I was going over all those things we go over when we are supposed to be asleep. Like what do I have to do today, besides the usual everyday routinely expected of me? I have been so busy with wedding stuff and I haven't had much time to think about anything!

One of my first thoughts was it’s Halloween! The trick-or-treaters would be out in force and I remembered again (for the umpteenth time), we had no candy. Yep, organized me, didn’t buy candy for my little neighbor friends and family that come for goodies. Then I remembered Thanksgiving is just around the corner! How do you celebrate? Share your thoughts!

That got me to thinking about Christmas and what we are doing for Jesus' birthday. Everyone has different ideas about Christmas. Are you ready for yours? Share with our readers how your family observes this holiday! Do our survey!

Well, I did finally get candy for the kids, and we had many little (and big) goblins show up at our house. After school, Main Street was a fright with the area kids trick-or-treating the merchants! We handed out lots of treats at the Call and had a great time seeing all the super costumes!

Now it's time to start preparing for Thanksgiving and our big family Christmas party. Those gifts don't wrap themselves and the family calendar still has to be finished. And I haven't even started on my own gifts yet. It seems we are always so busy, then moving on to the next thing, where does the time go?

Just believe... we do!
